Happy new year everyone. Welcome to my first post in 2022. Whoa! Time flies quickly. I cannot imagine it’s 2022 already. A lot of things have changed except for the Pandemic. Travels are still restricted, schools in my country are closed and our company training is still on zoom. But hey, despite all these, there are a lot of things to be grateful for in 2021 and lot of goals for 2022 to come up with.
Before diving into the year, I thought I might reflect on 2021 and set goals since it’s hard to navigate a city without maps. You cant expect to reach your destination without a guide. So as living without goals. I love to set specific and measurable goals to keep me motivated and inspired. I believe in the power of goal setting. If you do too, keep reading.

My 2021 Reflection
How would you describe 2021 in one word? What are your biggest accomplishments? It’s the best time to reflect on the year. See what went well and what things you can do better.
The most basic question to start with is “Was it a good or bad year”? Despite the fact that I could not go back to my home country, I say it’s a pretty good year. I also accomplished one of my biggest goals. I was able to get my driving license in a foreign country, in a second language. I am pretty proud of myself in this. I bought my own car and have the luxury now to go to any places I want to go.
How did I grow as a person?
We all feel a time in our lives the need for personal growth. I definitely needed to go out of my comfort zone last year since I entered the world of blogging. I learned so many new things such as creating and growing a website. Monetizing it and improving my writing skills, working with people, the list goes on.
I also took personal growth courses such as Rebekah’s Filled with Intention membership.
I believe in the power of using your mind to transform your life so I started journaling again and making gratitude list. I was gifted by Notebook Therapy some beautiful notebooks to start with. The simple act of setting goals and writing them down on your notebook makes a huge difference.
But the most fulfilling to me was reading books. Blinkist helped me a lot to read as many books as I can. I enjoy reading new ideas through them since their summaries are substantial.
My Goals for 2022
Back in my University years, I never thought of the significance of goal setting. Only after I lived in a foreign country I realized that I don’t want to live and wander aimlessly. I felt the need of setting goals for myself and my career.
Brian Tracy, one of the most prominent writers about personal growth and goal setting, taught us in his book the principles of setting goals. Create goals that are specific, challenging and with deadlines. So here’s a gist of the things I want to do in 2022.
Focus on growing my blog
I am so thankful for the times I had to stay home because I got to discover a new passion in blogging. I sometimes struggle write and this may sound counterintuitive because writing is a main part of blogging but I do enjoy the journey. I get to work and collaborate with different people which is fun.
I also hope to work more with brands this year and monetize my blog through sponsored posts.
One of the things I give importance to is my blog’s Domain Authority. I want to guest posts at least twice a month and advertise with fellow bloggers.
Travel across Japan
My dream country is Japan. Ive always been fascinated in their rich history and culture. Now that I am living in this country, I want to be able to travel more. It’s not my goal to visit all prefectures this year but someday, but I hope to visit all of the prefectures.
There’s are a lot of reasons to discover more and travel Japan. Beautiful sceneries is on top of my list. The four seasons is the foremost reason and my favorite season is Autumn.
If you have plans to visit Japan too, its great to take advantage of the JR Passes to save money. You can take great long trips around Japan with the train passes or you can also focus on one specific region. Either way is a rewarding experience.

Keep my side-hustles to save money
We all want to save money and become financially stable but a few of us know how to do it effectively. The truth is, it’s not that difficult. You just have to have the right mindset, habits and a few sidehustles to be successful at it. Change your lifestyle, live below your means and you should be okay.
I want to continue hustling so I can save money and finish building my home. At this point, I have three side-hustles and I have no intention to quit them this year.
Aside from my 9-5 teaching job, I teach private lessons after school. I consider my blog as a side-hustle since I get income from it too. Lastly, I do Vistual Assistant work but only blog commenting. I had no idea you can get paid commenting on other people’s blogs until I met someone on facebook group.
Here are more side hustle ideas you can try.
Sharing is Caring

Aaaahhhhh….the end of 2021 was so good for me as I reunited with my very first best friend, Juliet….all the way from elementary school! (I have actually blogged about her) I love her so so much. I hope 2022 is much sweeter as we catch up on the 24 years that we lost.
Great goals! I too want to focus on my blog, and we want to travel more. I want to be inspired this year as well, as I think things got stagnant due to Covid.
Sounds like you have some amazing goals and plans for 2022. Wishing you a happy and healthy new year.

Thank you Emman. I will try my best to save more this year!
Side hustles are the best. We have done that for years, incredible way to make some more income!
