The best legacy a person could ever leave in his lifetime is to be of inspiration to others. Inspiring others is more than talking them into doing something. It’s more of showing them; of acting on our words. Eventually, they would follow in our footsteps. But the question is, how to inspire other people? In this post, we give you ways to inspire others and support personal growth.

But first, what makes people inspirational?
What makes people inspirational? Below are habits inspirational people have that invigorate others.
1. They make goals
Goals, which may it be short-term or long-term, serve as a lighthouse to inspirational people. They despise confusion and the feeling of being all over the place.
They believe that we are living in a jungle full of uncertainties. For someone to exist without any goals, that person will certainly get lost. Inspirational people don’t do that.
They attack life by setting goals. It’s how they know where they’re headed.
2. They plan their daily life
As people are given only 24 hours to spend, planning is necessary. Inspirational people treat planning as a major component of their daily life. They use planners such as Day Designer planners to plan their day.
For them, it matters how they spend their time. It is as precious as knowing where you’re putting your money.
Time is fleeting after all. They have to make every second count.
3. They are excited about the future
The thought of the future hypes inspirational people up. They want to know where they will be five or ten years from now. And so, they work their fingers to the bone in order to see what the future has in store for them.
They find hope in merely contemplating and working on their future. It is the blood that keeps them alive and kicking all day.
4. They are achievers
This is who they are. They aim to achieve for themselves and for others as well. They aim for greatness. They are not necessarily intelligent but they’re achievers.
To stay consistent, they move. They know what they want and they are laser-focused on making their goals their reality.
5. They are competitive
They don’t settle for something less. Inspirational people know that to be the best version of themselves, they have to engage in competition, may it be with themselves or with others.
They chase it. Once they come face to face with their opponent, they never back down. They face it head-on. They have fun with it and they seek to progress through it.
6. They don’t rest until they reach their goals
Inspirational people don’t rest in the middle. Once they do, they would interrupt the momentum; they would block the adrenaline from rushing. And they hate to do that.
So, they keep the race and see to it that they’re done and over it before they pull their brakes. For them, it is “all gas, no brakes” until the finish line.
7. They don’t blame others for their misfortune
They own up to their mistakes. They apologize for it and they aim to change themselves for the better.
Inspirational people don’t use others as scapegoats. They are accountable and they know how to accept their shortcomings.
8. They seek advice
Inspirational people are aware of the value of asking for guidance. As part of their quest for improvement, they seek advice from seasoned and wiser individuals.
They find solitude in knowing that some people get their back in times of need.
They don’t say, “Oh, I’m tired. I just have to postpone this and finish it tomorrow.” That’s a huge no-no for them. Each day has its own tasks and so, inspirational people just do what they must do.
So here’s how to Inspire other people

Act
Inspirational people believe that actions speak louder than words. They don’t inspire by merely telling people what they want to achieve. They do it.
They know to themselves that they have to be their own examples and not other people. They value personal experience. For them, this is a way to magnet people to do the same.
So if you want to inspire others, you got to act and show action, not just words.
Stay consistent
Inspiring other people becomes difficult when you do not stay consistent.
Motivation is overrated. Inspirational people stay consistent. Since they are daily planners, they have a routine. A plan. And they follow them through the end.
They never slack as slacking is definitely a negative habit. It defeats the purpose of even setting a plan. It even erodes self-confidence. For them to keep the momentum, they do what they have promised themselves to do. Period!
Show vulnerability and welcome failures
Failures are normal for inspirational people. As a matter of fact, they are looking forward to it. It’s how they test their theory and see if what they’re thinking is correct.
They don’t recoil at the very idea of failing. Why fear failure when it is the best way to learn? Inspirational people approach failures positively and they embrace them – making them a part of their normal life.
You too can be inspirational and inspire other people more if you show vulnerability.
Choose positivity over negativity
This is not toxic positivity. You just have to be aware that feeling gloomy is part of the human makeup. We experience bad weather from time to time.
Yet, you should know how to pick yourself to inspire others. Grieve but know how to get up rather than just simply wallowing over the problem. Always seek to see the bright side of it.
Aim for growth and development.
Learning is a continuous journey and they embody such a universal adage. It is in their framework to seek growth, mentally and physically.
Make time for studying. It could be about your field or a side hustle. You might be busy. However, your hectic schedule is not a hindrance to the pursuit of development. Learn new courses online, whether it’s programming or learning a new language.

Be Ambitious
We only have one life to live. Thus, inspirational people, want to make the most of it. They aim to perform and give their all in everything they do.
Their relentless pursuit of being something more makes them outstanding. Their ambitious personality pushes them to work harder and be better eventually.
That is the quality you want to have if you want to know how to inspire other people.
Don’t make excuses
Do you want to learn how to inspire other people? Don’t make excuses.
Excuses are only for lesser men. Inspirational people don’t belong to that group. When they want to get things done, they get things done. Its difficulty is out of the question.
Don’t tell but show everyone
People learn from watching and seeing actual results. Thus, inspirational people prefer to show others how they achieve success.
Preaching for them does little impact. They believe that when you show pure actions, people are more inclined to follow.
Outwork everyone
Believe in going the extra mile. Pursue constant progress and thrive in competitions. Do you love the vibe and the eventual triumph you’ll get? This is what you need to inspire other people.
Inspirational people outwork everyone by focusing on progress and education; working around the clock and never backing down.
Be a problem-solver
Know this! Problems ignite inspirational people. It’s their boon. They know that every problem has a solution. They may not be able to find a solution to theirs immediately, but they will in time.
They don’t wallow in the corner. They are perpetually determined to get to the bottom of any problem. That’s what they are – problem-solvers.
Pursue self-care
You will learn how to inspire other people easily when you pursue self-care because part of your success is the essence of self-care; taking some time off your schedule to really look after yourself. Know when to relax and get their thoughts together.
To stay consistently productive and driven, rest. Recharge and when you’re ready, pounce. Inspire others.
Inspirational people in my life

Indeed, there are people we look up to. For me, I have grouped them into different categories instead of mentioning their individual names. Each represents those who have imprinted valuable lessons in me.
Parents
Parents play one crucial role in the lives of their children. Being a product of supportive parents, my parents really mean the world to me.
They taught me my first word, they guided me when I was still learning how to walk; and they were there when puberty hit me.
They always have my back. They surely push me to do what’s necessary for my life and to be kind when no one else can. The values of hard work, resilience, and optimism they taught me are enough lessons for me to be better.
Sometimes, learning how to inspire other people starts with following the steps of your parents.
Entrepreneurs
There’s something about entrepreneurs that captivates me. They are driven and seemingly unstoppable. The likes of Elon Musk get me every time and I suppose Elon Musk is the ideal entrepreneur.
He believes that life is not all about problems, that there is something about it that we can appreciate and be excited about. Those words of him propel and spring me back to life whenever I find myself reaching rock bottom.
Athletes
Athletes are products of discipline, grit, and commitment. The great late Kobe Bryant was one of the best basketball players in the world. I consider him the epitome of an inspirational person I know.
He believed in constant training, never resting in the middle, only at the end. He was known for valuing every minute of his time literally. He didn’t waste it on partying or spending leisure time with friends. Instead, he made the most of every second of his day of training.
Teachers
Teachers are considered second parents to students. I met a professor at school. He advocates the power of believing. He would always tell us to “Believe. Believe. And believe.” His words affected me in ways I hadn’t imagined.
Students deserve to be guided by teachers like him, someone who knows the struggles of being a student in general. For students to have the courage to pursue their goals, they must learn from the best. From a truly motivating person.
Dare-devils
They are known for being adrenaline junkies. They are fond of adventures; of the extreme activities life has to offer. They seem to be always willing to take risks, no holds barred.
Their high pain tolerance and hyper energy are some qualities to die for. No wonder they appear to be full of life because they’re always on the go. They love the outdoors and the amazing vibe it brings into their lives.

Amazing post and inspirational too! We should all be working to uplift our friends and family to achieve their goals, rather than watching them struggle. Or even feeling jealous about their achievements/inspirations!
Love this. My word for the last year has been “intentional”. Taking personal responsibility for mistakes and shortcomings is essential in showing others how to live their best life.
I have a list of people who inspire me to work harder daily. The list just keeps increasing. It helps me to stay positive and remember there are people out there that have done what I am doing, and I shouldn’t give up.
This is all useful advice. Being positive can be very important. As can being a problem solver. Both are important for us all.
