1. Be Gentle With Your Eyes
When it comes to your eyes, it’s not how you use them sometimes, but it’s what you apply to them. Your eyes are sensitive and prone to irritation because they have some of your body’s thinnest skin. When you go to bed, avoid rubbing them too hard. Rubbing them hard irritates them and can worsen any conditions you have.
Your nighttime eye care regimen should be specific to your skin type, like your skincare routine. If you smoke, your eyelid area can become irritated faster. Instead of applying the same products to your face, try using eye creams to address your concerns.
When applying eye cream, do not press too hard. Gently pat on the cream and rub in circular motions. This will encourage collagen and elastin production.

2. Wash Your Eyes and Hands Thoroughly
Using dirty hands or washcloths can transfer bacteria from your hands to your face. There’s no telling how much dirt, grime, and germs your fingers have picked up throughout the day. Even if you clean your glasses before putting them on, there are still traces of oil and dirt left on them. Make sure to wash them thoroughly before using them.
Washing your hands thoroughly before touching any part of your head, including your eyelids, will dramatically reduce the risks of infection.
Before going to bed, make sure your hands and face are squeaky clean and free of makeup. The less visible dirt and grease are on your eyelids and under your eye, the easier it will be to get rid of that pesky zit in the morning.
Since your skin around the eyes is so delicate, it’s essential to use these special cleansers that contain no harsh chemicals. Avoid abrasive cleansers and scrubs.
3. Get Enough Sleep
Getting enough sleep is essential to your overall health. One study revealed that those who sleep poorly every night were more likely to develop dry eye syndrome than those who have a whole night’s sleep. Give your eye proper rest by having enough shut eyes every night.
Getting a good night’s rest and waking up early can give you great rewards. To give yourself a fighting chance against dark circles and puffiness, make sure you change your sleeping position. While you’re asleep, body fluids accumulate on your face, which causes the bags under and around the eyes.
Using a cold compress before you sleep may be enough to get rid of dark circles. The application of cold can help constrict the blood vessels quickly, giving some temporary relief.
4. Drink Plenty of Water

Staying hydrated keeps the body functioning correctly. Drinking enough water every day is vital to keep the body up and running. It also helps in flushing out toxins and other waste from the body. Drinking water regularly helps to ensure that your body is hydrated.
Your body is made up of about 60% water, and it plays a crucial role in maintaining your health. Dehydration can cause fatigue, headaches, and blurred vision. It can also affect the cornea, which is the front window of the human eye.
Lack of hydration can cause many problems. It can cause you to feel tired and sluggish and lead to headaches. It can also contribute to dark undereye circles and puffy lids.
5. Apply A Night Cream
When shopping for a facial moisturizer, look for one that contains natural ingredients. There are plenty of night creams on the market that contain artificial chemicals and fragrances. These chemicals can clog your pores and cause breakouts.
Look for a product that contains antioxidants. It can help improve the skin texture and minimize the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
If you have dry skin, using a night moisturizer will help in making sure that your under eyes stay moisturized and youthful-looking. You can use a hydrating gel or serum if you have oily skin.
6. Gently Massage Around The Eyes
The muscles surrounding the under eyes and forehead can get stressed and tired from everyday stresses. It’s essential to take a break from the daily grind and relax the muscles. Massaging the area will also help in blood circulation.
Massaging and tightening the under eyes and the area above the eyebrows can encourage collagen production. You can add a drop or two of your favorite essential oil to massage into this area.
You can combine your nightly skincare ritual with your favorite beauty tricks for extra relaxation. You can use a cooling massage roller for a soothing effect. This will relax your body and mind.
7. Ditch Your Phone Before Bed
It probably feels impossible to ditch your phone altogether, especially when you have many things to do. But when you have so much to do, you stay up too late. But even when you’re too tired to do anything, your smartphone keeps you awake.
The blue light emitted by cell phones can disrupt the circadian rhythm. This disrupts melatonin production and robs you of a good night’s sleep. If you cannot live without checking your social media accounts every minute, try downloading an app that filters out blue light.
If you enjoy watching movies on your phone, reading an e-book, or catching up on your favorite late-night shows, you should wait until morning. People who use their phones less before sleeping are less likely to suffer from eye issues later.
By keeping your phone away from your bed, you allow your mind to wind down and concentrate on other things, like enjoying a good book.
