What hobbies can you try?
The pandemic might have forced us to mostly stay indoors but we can still do a lot of things at home. Most of these hobbies are easily be done in the comfort of your home. Let’s see what else you can try.
1. Painting
If you want to keep your imagination rolling, try getting into the world of painting. If you want to express yourself but can’t do it in words, then jump into the wagon and try painting.
Do not be afraid to express yourself through painting. You don’t need to have stellar skills. You just need to have the interest.
Painting permits you to become keener and more observant of details. It can help you sharpen your mind through imagination.

Photography is not just merely snapping a picture. It’s more than that. It is a form of art that allows you to be more creative. It urges you to tweak and have fun.
One of the best things that photography can offer as a hobby is it preserves memories. So, when you’re old and gray, you can always go back in time and reminisce the great moments.
Thus, do go grab your phone and get the camera rolling.
3. Candle making
This maybe is one of the fanciest hobbies I have ever known – I might be wrong though. At any rate, making candles seems to be in vogue these days.
Most people love creating their own candles for they find this relaxing. You can also try. Candle making, like any other form of art, gives you the freedom to manifest your creativity.
It makes you innovative as you need to select the perfect type of candle pattern and mix colors and scents with it.
4. Sewing
Have you ever tried making DIY clothes? If not, now is your chance! Awaken your slumbering sewing skill and put it to use.
What is so remarkable about sewing is it enhances your hand-and-eye coordination. Here, you need to invest focus and keen perception.
Sewing also allows you to express your fashion sense. It gives you the freedom to apply your own design and improvise. Not only does sewing make you enjoy the activity but you can also earn from it.
5. Dish Gardening
Dish gardening is the art of making miniature gardens. It`s one of the best hobbies to try this year. Thus, you don’t need an actual or massive backyard to set up the garden you want. You just need a dish or a basin – big enough to accommodate all those beautiful flower plants you want to add.
This new craze is known for its detoxifying effect as it filters out those toxins that may be plaguing your house. It does not only fill your room with a burst of color but it also gives you the feeling of tranquility.
So, what are you waiting for? Get your creativity going and make yourself a dish from the garden.

6. Play a musical instrument
“Music can heal the wounds that medicine cannot touch”. Indeed! You might have to go the extra mile to learn how to play a musical instrument. Yet it’s going to be worth it.
This hobby comes with a lot of perks. It helps you build your confidence and fortifies your patience. It boosts your mood and helps you relax.
Playing a musical instrument can also help in expanding your circle of friends. You get to meet like-minded people and probably learn some music tricks from them.

Learning a new language is a lifelong process. Thus, it requires time and patience. But again, that is okay. What matters is you keep a positive mindset.
As a hobby, it opens doors of opportunities for you to connect with people who actually use the language you’re learning. You get to appreciate somebody else’s culture as well.
Thus, make use of the online tools you can access at your fingertips and immerse yourself in learning a new language.
8. Cooking foreign food
Think of foreign food you have tried and liked before. Look it up and study its recipe. Most of all, do give it a shot and cook. These are my best-recommended hobbies to try if you haven`t yet.
Cooking foreign food has a lot of things to offer. It serves as a great way to explore others’ cultures and to understand them even better. Through cooking, you get to express your creativity in a different light.
Now, it’s high time for you to give this hobby a chance if you haven’t yet.
9. Baking

Hmm…I can almost smell that sweet aroma lingering in the air by the mere thought of baking. Well, baking allows you to bring magic into people’s life. You get to bake them the goodies perfect for any occasion.
Baking doesn’t only allow you to have fun. It also comes in handy when you need to give presents to your loved ones. It just makes the perfect gift.
Once you have developed the knack for baking, you can go on further and make money out of it.
10. Practice Thrift Shopping
Nowadays, people are becoming more and more obsessed with minimalism. They are now encouraging others to do the same by letting go of those items they no longer use.
That brings us to the idea of Thrift Shopping. Give secondhand clothes or other items a chance and buy one. It’s obvious – you can save yourself a penny or two by thrifting.
So, go to your local Thrift Shops and hunt for some valuables. You might even chance upon an antique that is worth keeping.
